Our Association celebrated its 7th Annual General Meeting at the Le Meridien Hotel in Limassol. Our guest speaker was the Central Bank of Cyprus Governor, Mr Athanasios Orphanides, who delivered a speech on " Towards an Improved Supervisory Architecture in the aftermath of the Crisis". The guests and members of our association present have found his speech as very enlightening of what is to come on the regulatory side.
Our President, Mr Kirill Zimarin, delivered his speech on what the Board has done in 2009 and his plans for the 2010. He mentioned the registration of the Association with the Company Registrar and it is now a legal body ready to enter on any agreements and with any body on equal footing. He further mentioned the creation of this website as a means for our members to receive news on the associations's activities. He further stated that the bi-monthly meetings with top government officials and others, are of great value to our members as this is the feedback he is receiving.
The President concluded that for 2010, the Assocaition will continue with more bi-monthly meetings, more training seminars, and possibly consider and review the restructuring of our association in such a way as to provide better service to our members.
